We installed a brand new, energy efficient Worcester combination boiler, and a closed vent water-heating system, installed double glazing throughout, and replaced all of the carpets and flooring in accordance with fire safety guidance.

Brand new bathroom suites were fitted in 2008, and the house has been professionally maintained ever since.

We undertook a full redecoration of all the guest areas in January 2012, including all walls and woodwork.

In January 2013, we completely remodelled the owners' accommodation, separating 'work' and 'home' to provide complete privacy. We can now offer a fabulous 'upside down maisonette', with a large open plan kitchen / dining / living area on the ground floor, with two good sized bedrooms and a great bathroom with freestanding bath and separate shower in the basement. You'll also benefit from the amazing attic rooms - currently arranged as a large double bedroom with en-suite bathroom for you or your private guests' use.

No bureaucracy

We've already dealt with all of the agencies, obtained all of the permissions and incorporated all of the regulations affecting Bed and Breakfast accommodation providers.

Planning: Richmond House has full planning permission to run as a bed and breakfast, and is categorised as C1, Hotel.

Building Regulations: All of the work we had carried out to turn Richmond House into a B&B has been signed off under building regulations.

Fire safety: Richmond House has mains wired smoke and heat detectors, emergency lighting, fire escape signage, self closing fire doors, 30 minute burn time between-floors and a full fire safety audit.

Food Hygiene: Richmond House has been awarded the highest Food Standards Agency Hygiene Rating. All you'll have to do is complete the safe food handling course.

Guest Administration

All of the administration is set up and here for you - online booking system, confirmation of booking letters, paper diary system, guest information packs, etc…….you can tweak them over time to suit your needs.

Marketing & Advertising
